I have a home built coop and 5 Polish Crested hens who are a year old and lay lots of smallish white eggs! Need ideas for deep bedding and what it looks like. I use lots of wood shavings which keeps the eggs clean but wondered what else I could use? Pros and Cons of different bedding? Thanks!

Hi there! I’m new too. I used pine shavings for my babies and switched to hemp bedding when they got old enough to go into the coop. I like it way more than the shavings. Not dusty at all, super dry, compostable and no smell whatsoever.

Can I ask where everyone is getting their hemp bedding? If I can’t find that, what would be a good alternative? Thanks.
