Hatched 5 chicks. 4 of them are doing great standing and interacting with each other. Though, I've not seen any of them actually eat or drink on their own (they were hatched Sat/Sun). I have dipped their beak in water and showed them the food several times. 5th chick is not standing, when it does it's very sleepy and prefers to lay down. It will get up to move to the other chicks, but lays down and then they walk on it. I put him in a small box to keep the other chicks out, but that way he can stay close to his flock mates and stay warm under the heat plate. Brooder is staying the appropriate temp (90-92 degrees F). He has been given water, but still very "sleepy". This chick was knocked around a lot by it's flock mates during the hatching process and was the last to pip on Saturday and last to hatch mid morning Sunday.

Is there anything else I can do for it?

He's been getting electrolyte water the whole time. I'm unfortunately not at home, but my spouse has him in a heated mat tunnel with a thermometer and it seems to have perked up some. He's going to use a dropper to give him more electrolyte water. Maybe the little guy is just exhausted.

Thanks for responding so quick.

It did drink some electrolytes, it's warmed up more. but now it's doing this thing like it wants to chirp but cannot. Apparently it had bedding in it's mouth from being pushed into it from their flock mates. We removed it and it has perked up some.

I used to hatch chicks all the time (14+ years ago) and never recall having an issue like this.
