Need natural solution to mites!

Thank you very much. I finally did find the Elector PSP and it turns out, converted, it's near $250 just for one jug.
So, neem oil.
I'm not buying straw again.. it makes sense to me that being stored where wild birds come and go, it would have a decent potential to carry these mites. Read all about using sand instead.
Yep, the ESP is pricy. But everyone who uses it says it is worth it... I just can't, lol. The neem oil worked really well for me, and was a fraction of the cost.

Turns out I can't get the neem oil from the link, shipped to Canada. May have to bite the bullet on the PSP cost.

OH bummer! Maybe do another research for neem oil and see if it available through another source? Most garden/livestock stores down here (California) have it in stock.

Pyrethrin is an organically approved product, and permethrin is very similar and longer lasting. Also very inexpensive!!! It's what I use, and will continue to use, until someday when it fails to work. The spinosad works fine, but $$$ and a backup plan for much later.
Spray inside the coop and on the birds, not outdoors.
Baled pine shavings are good bedding, and won't be infested with mites or lice!!!
Neem oil may or may not be safe on your birds...

Brahma Chicken5000 gave me a recipe for a garlic essential oil spray. I have not tried it yet.

I read that one, but now I see a bunch of chicken keepers saying it doesn't work..
