Thank you Hillbilly Hen! Anyway, my chick's comb is nowhere near as red as Katy's little roo's comb. My chick will be 6 weeks old this weekend. Guess I'm gonna have to wait it out!

I just wanted to say that it looks like I'm choking them, but they are sitting on the edge of their brooder. I just had to hold their head like that to get a good pic.

If I was betting money, I'd bet on them both being roos.

That's crazy, I just called the feedstore and asked them about the slw's they had a couple of weeks ago. They said they ordered all pullets from Ideal. I wish I could keep a rooster but I can't. I'm going to keep them for a few months more just to be sure.

I have learned the hard way that feedstores are not miracle workers--if they say they are pullets, their is about a 30-40% chance that they are wrong. I took to buying 4-5 month old pullets in order to guarantee that I got hens. Good luck!

I have 3 week old Wyanadottes, 2 golden 1 silver- there so cute right now- but alredy have TONS of feathers- I was wondering when they may be able to go in there 4x8 coop with the 3 other chicks without the heat lamp. Mothers day weekend is usually beyond the cold spring nights and frost here in upper maryland.

This is from last week - she is just starting to show a hint of pink at the top of the comb against her head.

I am sticking with her.
