Mallards don't lay tons of eggs, but they are also one of the smaller duck breeds. I have runners that are a bit bigger and a welsh harlequin that is bigger than the runners.
Without supplementing light, I get basically an egg a day from each of them from late winter until early winter. If somebody starts molting, they stop for a bit, but I get eggs. Plenty of them.
