They are so pretty and I really wanted a barred rock. I can’t take the chance on a mean rooster right now. Thank you for saying that!!! Life savers

Those aren't barred rocks. And yes, they're both cockerels

We lost our barred rock to a predator and I was looking for more around that age to mix in but I’m pretty thorough on my research. The guy keeps saying they look just like his laying hens
I can have a rooster but I’m not ready honestly. I haven’t picked them up yet

That is very wrong of him. If a 9 week old has a comb like a laying hen, it is a rooster.
