Need Rabbit Peep!

I have Rex (the larger version) Silver Fox, Lionheads, a pair of Americans and a Trio of NZ. Any breed really will work well if you start handling them young. Alot of the larger breeds are very laid back. I think bucks make better pets, since does can get kinda crabby when they are ready to breed!

Right now we have three polish does, a new Zealand Doe, a satin doe and a mixbreed doe. The polish tolerate being held but they don't seek you out. The new Zealand and the mix are Mean! The Mix will not bite but freaks out when u try to hold her and she claws. The new Zealand I got at an auction recently she is 4yrs old and I think she was tortured. If you catch her and pick her up she is fine will let u do whatever u want, but if u reach into her cage she comes at you teeth and claws. She had a litter of babys yesterday. Now even trying to feed her is like an episode of the crocidile hunter! The satin doe is very calm and lets u do whatever u want with her. THough she doesnt seem to overly enjoy it.
We also have three bucks a Holland lop a mini rex and a satin. All three are very friendly and will let u hold them willingly the satin is by far the friendliest!

Just my current experience

We raise California rabbits.
I have also had checkered and flemish and New Zealands in the past.
And I can say that I have never had any rabbit that enjoys being held, it scares them, it is akin to their nemisis the owl or hawk picking them up off the ground freaks them out.
My bucks are very personable, to the point where we have a halter for them and take him on walks.
They are big, though, and would be nothing you would want to pet or hold, he is nasty as a billy goat, cute though.
Rabbits can also rip you up with their claws ! Be careful !
To have and to hold ?
I highly recommend the lowly but wonderful world of cavies !
They are clean, sweet, have babies born on the run complete with fur and eyes open, and squeal with delight when you turn the doorknob and come home, or open the refrig as they expect a lettuce treat.
I adore these little critters !
Get a Guinea Pig !

I've had good luck with Netherland Dwarfs, currently have two, but I've heard they can be flighty and not always friendly. I also have a lop mix and he is wonderful! Super laid back, like a dog! My next breed I would wish for would be a flemish giant. I've heard they're really cool and friendly as well. Been keeping and eye out for one.

i have a mini rex (i think hes mini, at least). he is the sweetest thing ever. he is grey and WAYY too cute. not too small or too big. ridiculously soft, like velvet except better. he lets me hold him, he licks me, and he has never been aggressive towards anyone. he is very playful and active too, loves to explore and play. they need lots of toys and activities and stimulation. time outside the cage, free to run around is very important. Ashby (my lil man) is an indoor house rabbit, in my bedroom. he is litter box trained, so i let him out whenever im in there.

good luck with choosing! rabbits are one of my favorite animals ever
