need rat cage ideas PICS ADDED POST 12!!

Its actually pretty easy to make your own rat cages and fun also when i had my 15 rats i built there cages myself. theres several things you can use but for everything you will need some wire mesh from a ahrdware store along with some zip ties.
i made my cages useing plastic storage totes stacked on top of eachother and places side to side useing plastic tubes to connect them (usually in pet stores sold for those hamster cages you can buy the tubes seperate though)
with mt totes to allow adequate air flow i would cut a large square out of each side only leaveing a frame to attatch the wire to using the zip ties. ive also seen some people taking the plastic kiddie swimming pools one on top one on bottom and taking stiff wire mesh and creating a giant tube basically. if you join this forum http://www.rmca.org/ they have some amazing cage designs that are pretty cheap and easy but huge!

Well Sam is my name, and william is my husbands middle name... first thing I called him was Steve, but my husband thought i was crazy... lol
templeton is cute, but he always kinda seemed "evil" in charlottes web... lol

I think I might have worded my previous post wrong, keep the males and females in separate cages, not the females in separate cages! Yea, definitely a social critter needing companionship!

and he had a rat as a teenage her name was rat-rat. My MIL hated that rat.

That reminds me she supposed to visit time to go to the pet store for a couple of rats. I miss our so much this time I will get two.

He is so cute, I would not have been able to pass that up either. Just a thought, you could just get one female, let them breed, then keep one boy and one girl from the litter as companions. He would make cute babies. How about Rizo?

so a local rat breeder told me this when I emailed her pictures of him. That is a beautiful example of a Russian Blue Agouti Rex Dumbo. So

but guess that is what he is, so maybe I need a russian name
