Need REALLY simple small coop/brooder box ideas for a novice

Hello, I am wanting to make a 4X4 or 4x5 simple box design coop either for banty's or brooder coop. I am soooooo not handy it's scary but I'm really determined to get this done. I want to make it out of wood since I've got a lot of recycleable materials from work. Hubby doesn't think we "need" another coop but I know better

I want it functional, small, and decent looking. Pics would be very helpful. Thanks!

I built them by myself and I'm not very handy. I used 1/2" hardware cloth for walls, top and bottom... we are out in the country so rat snakes and raccoons are a big concern. I added oil cloth to a portion of the top and sides for shade and shelter from the weather. Honestly, I think they turned out pretty darn cute. I can take and post some pics if you want to see them.

Try CL. I got this cute little dog house, made a few modifications, built a little platform for it, and it was done. When I'm finished with it (I bought it for a temp coop for two pullets I picked up), I'm going to advertise it back on CL for a banty coop...

I just "finished" building one that is 4' x 3'. I used all recycled wood for it. Everyone has agred that it's turned out really nice considering my materials. I just moved the igger babies out of the brooder into it and they're loving the extra space, so it's working well for now as a brooder too. I have put off cutting the windows because of moving the babies in & still have to make the front door but for now it's just got a piece of plywood blocking it off so nothing can get in/out.

Shelly.. someone on our local Craigslist has a rabbit hutch for sale. You could just add some plywood to the sides and have a coop in an afternoon.

This is one my DH made yesterday for our new pea-chicks he built it on a pallet and i can move it with my tractor forks but 2 people can pick it up.

We had everything here so it did not cost a dime ,all the material except the screws were recycled

I really like those ideas. I want to build 5 or 6 simple utilitarian shelter boxes to put in my 1250 square foot pheasant pen. Nothing fancy. the one on the pallet was perfect, except it must be heavy and I don't have forks to move it around. Nice coops though, liked the ideas very much.
