That is true, I start mine out in a large rubbermaid tote (like 36"L x 20"W x 24"H) and by 2 weeks old they are flying up and out. I lay a light piece of metal grate on top, you may be able to get away with a light netting tented up over the pool. Maybe...

Yes, we surround the pool with a chicken wire wall once they start jumping and flying.....we used it for our five barred rocks and it worked great.

We added our two Icelandic chicks last night, and as of today....chirpy chick has stopped chirping! I figured he'd be happier with a couple more buddies in there.
