My husband asked me if I would fix him creamed peas at Thanksgiving. I personally think peas are Satans vegetable but husband is a good man who deserves peas if he wants them. If anyone has a favorite version of creamed peas they are willing to share I would appreciate it.

Well that one had me stumped - when that happens I hit YouTube to SEE what people make. In this case the best looking video was this one.
A variation on RedEhn's in that these folks combine diced cooked red potatoes, pearl onions, the blanked peas and a home made cream sauce, looks English or Irish in origin. It's a cute video, give her a look.

I've had them served to me 2 different ways.

Both were simply green peas in a standard white sauce. One way the peas were whole and the dish included boiled pearl onions (probably canned). The other way, the peas were mashed.

So ask him which version he likes.

I'm not a green pea fan, but I like the peas and pearl onions in cream sauce. For Thanksgiving, I'd make my white sauce with real butter and perhaps half and half or, at a minimum, whole milk.

Or, take a look in the freezer section. Green Giant used to make a creamed peas and pearl onions in a boiling bag. Maybe they still do and that might be a reasonable solution if only one person wants creamed peas. It's not like you don't have a ton of other cooking to do at Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I kind of liked the one on the youtube video and think Im going to make that one. I appreciate the help. Thanks guys you all rock!
