We administer the ivomec .25 mL under each wing.
Some people also do not put chicks on the ground until 6 months to a year. We don't put them on the ground until 5 months. They are housed separate. Then put on fresh sand.
We don't worm our peachicks as often as some others obviously but this works well for us.
Everyone is going to eventually have their own system which works for them
In the beginning we had peafowl with cecal, capillary worms, blackhead, coccidiosis. We were beginners. We bought infected birds. And it came a step away from us getting out of peafowl altogether before we really started. Bad, bad experience.
And at that time there was no such thing as forums to turn to. We didn't have anyone to turn to for help. My vet I know well we used to work together so we had a good relationship I could turn to him for some help. Dr. Tom Bryan from Purdue diagnostic lab was great too. Several visits, phone calls. He was a big help.
