We are in the process of building our run. The coop itself going to be completely enclosed within the run. The walls of the run are hardware cloth and are about 5 and 1/2 feet high. We are unsure of how to cover the run to keep the chickens safe. It seems like covering the run with hardware cloth will be pretty difficult as it's not that easy to work with. Does anyone have any suggestions on something that is easy to work with, protective, and esthetically pleasing? Pictures of your runs would be great too! Thank you!

Depending on the width of your run...I used 2 x 4 x 8' covered with 1/2" hardware cloth with fiberglass panels on top of the cloth

We ordered bird netting from amazon to cover our 30'x 30' run. It is not completely predator proof, but for flying predators, hawks, it is enough to dissuade them. Of course, alot depends on your winters too,....if ice and snow are factors.
Our birds have a locked and secure coop in the building that their pen is next to.
