I have a flock of 17, (10 different breeds). I have 10 large fowl and 7 bantams. I just realized (some are just 10 weeks or so) that I have a total of 3 roosters, however they are all bantams. Is a flock ok with 3 roosters and 14 hens if the roosters are small? So far they are all nice, 1 silkie, 1 golden seabright and 1 polish. I don't want to get rid of any of them unless necessary. Thanks.

I see no need to get rid of any roosters at the present time. They may continue to coexist peacefully or they may start fighting. If that occurs you may want to remove one or two from the flock. Good luck with them.

I agree. Sometimes roosters can stay with one another if they grew up together. Just make sure they have a large enough area to get away from each other.

Yep, just keep an eye on things. If the roosters start fighting, or are harassing the hens so much they can't eat, rest or egg productions goes down (that's what happened here, but I had just about as many cockerels as pullets - that quickly came to an end!), then you'll have to do something.

That's what happened here with just one 'extra' roo.......he's now resting in the fridge, on deck for rooster n noodles in a couple days.

Thanks guys....I am planning a new coop, they should have plenty of room, but I will keep watch for any problems.
