I like Piers Anthony and Terry Pratchett. You have to be in the mood for it. I think Terry Pratchett is hilarious; you never know what bizarro character or situation he's going to think up next.
Of course, I'm a 26-year-old who still reads the latest Redwall book whenever it comes out. I started reading those in middle school. I just can't resist a good story, and Brian Jacques is great (although I can finish reading one of his books in about three hours).
There's nothing wrong with reading so-called YA lit as an adult. I read as an escape from reality, so I'm pretty much open to anything imaginative and new. Plus, I can recommend good books to my students.
Next on my reading list is the Twilight series.
