I have an Easter Egger that I am afraid is a roo and not a hen. Could you look at these two pictures and give an opinion. I would hate to give it away thinking it is male and be wrong. thanks,
n
Not really any better pictures and they have gone to bed for tonight. the main color is black with yellow neck feathers and white ones on the body. the black has a lot of turquoise incandescent coloration. really a beauty. the neck feathers are like a lions mane. about 4 months old
The problem is, I can't see the comb properly. These pictures are really washed out. I think I see male saddle feathers, but I can't be sure from these photos.
OK, i will try to get a picture in the morning when they wake up. it has been hard to get a good picture that shows the color well. I agree about the saddle feathers. the other EEer the same age doesn't look like this one. No saddle and no neck mane. also this one has a red comb (not large but red) the other one has a smaller comb and it is neutral color. More pictures tomorrow! thanks for your help.
