Hello addictive forum,

I know aproximately what to do for pen, just not sure what goes first. My pen will be 20 by 20, with wire on top.

I assume it goes like this:
1. Put 4 corner posts in the ground, do I need concrete, or is there other way, should I use wood or metal?
2. Put other posts in between every 5 feet.
3. Start stretching the wire on it, how do I join the 4' wire to the height of 8'?
4. Dig a trench to sink extra wire into ground.
5. Add some cables or wood along the top to support the top wire. Is there a way to tent the wire in the middle so it could be higher for flying in the middle?

I am not sure these steps are correct, especially how to make the base. Also i need advice on electric wire. Where to find simple setup kit and how to run it?

Thank you so much.

I dont know much about digging wood post. But I know at the corners there should be 3 with a brase inbetween them. I raise rabbits as well as Peafowl and I use J clips to connect wire toghther. They come in pounds bags. I used them to connect 2, 4' rolls on top of each other.

You can tent the wire by putting a larger pole in the middle with a sqaure piece of plywood screwed to the top.

what works to is presure treated 2x4's you can get them like 12 ft tall an can buy a banester ball for top so you dont rip the netting.

I need.. at least.. 20 feet tall.. for the top few tips.. since my tree is actually... 16 foot or so tall... and then teepee down around it.. to 6 foot high fence

If you want a good, solid 20' pole that will support the netting you can go to Home Depot and buy two 12' and two 8' pressure treated 2x4's. Also buy a 1lb box of 3" galvanized deck screws. Then you "sister" them alternatley together by screwing them face to face. (screw the 8 footer to the 12 footer, then alternate on the other side.) What you end up with is a 20' long post that is 3" x 3 1/2" in diameter. No cutting involved and can be assembled in 5 minutes.
