Need some Advice about Roosters!!

Roosters crow.... It is what they do. If you don't want to hear a rooster crow, my suggestion would be send him back to his previous owner.

Some roosters may crow less than others, but even those will crow any time they want to or feel like they need to. And they don't really care if you like listening to them or not.

All roosters crow, it is their job, beside you know what. If you just got him he maybe just telling the hens and everyone else that he is THE MAN. If you do not want to hear the rooster, return him and purchase eggs for your batter. I enjoy hearing my rooster, sometimes it just makes me laugh.

Some do crow more than others. As a previous person here said, since you just got this rooster, he's most likely establishing his dominance. His territory. If he hears the neighbor's roo, he's going to respond to it with his own crow. He might be trying to get the neighbor's roo to respond to him even.

Give him a week and see if his need to assert himself every 5 minutes goes away. Myine crows a lot in the morning, and at add times throughout the day, but certainly not every 5 minutes all day long. I think it just his way of letting the neighborhood know he intends to stay.

So one of my young girls turned into a rooster! His name is Alice....Cooper( now).He is a white Leghorn and getting his cock -esterone now and chased my mom who unexpectedly came to visit. So he has been a little testy, though my husband packs him around like nothin! And sthe crowing never stops either, well, average every 15mins now and sometimes all hours of the night, but I personaly like it and I think it will slow down as they get older. My question is, he is starting to have his way with the girls, I dont want 100 chicks in my yard, So does a hen go broody when she plans to hatch them while I take other eggs and will they be bloody eggs inside?

He will calm down with time. Just getting his bearings and establishing dominance. Give it a week and if he isn't a respectable member of the community at that time get rid of him.
