i worm my hens every six months.i start with wazine for round worms.and follow up with ivermectin pour on.(this is recommened for cattle)i have 4,five month old pullets that i have not wormed,i read on this site to worm when they are six months old.this morning i found round worms in their run.they were moving.yuk!i don't know if they came from my hens or if they came from my young pullets.i will start my worming treatment tomorrow morning.is their a better follow up wormer other than ivermectin.and will it do any harm to my hens to worm again so soon.they are all in the run togather.

Valbazen is a good wormer. I don't know how readily available it is in your area. Some feed stores may carry it. My TSC did not. I had to order mine from Firststatevetsupply.com. Jefferslivestock.com also carries it. I use Zimectrin Gold (paste) for my horses and have read on here that it is also good for chickens, as it also kills tapeworms. You'd use a pea size for standard chickens and BB size for smaller chickens.
I'm sure you know that Wazine is only good for roundworms, and sounds like you're dealing with those. Valbazen takes care of everything. I've been told that Valbazen is safe for first time use as well, but I used the Wazine first because I had to wait for the Valbazen to be shipped. Good luck!

i ordered the valbazen from jeffers live stock shipping was a lot cheaper.
