Need some advice

Hi there, one of my chickens and one of my ducks are all laying next to each other, they do this about once every two months or so and it’s always the same 2, they never fight and always have food and water and a comphy laying area. But for some reason they never succeed, they can sometimes have up to 3 babies but they will die within a few days, the chicken never had babies just rotten eggs and the rest of the ducks eggs are always rotten. Dose anyone have any ideas on why this is happening and how to help them??

They are broody and trying to hatch eggs?
Duck eggs or chicken eggs?
What kind of duck eggs?
Do you give them the fresh fertile eggs after they've been sitting for a good 3 days and 3 nights?
Or do you just let the eggs pile up and hope they'll hatch them?

They are Muscovy duck eggs and silky chicken eggs, we haven’t tried to interfere with the eggs as many of our others hatch many successfully withought any human interference

Well, if you don't want to 'manage' the situations,
you can't expect all incubations to be successful.
