Need some hatching buddies - Hatching May 24-28

ooh! Count me in too. First time hatching,due April 29-30 in a homemade incubator and (hopefully) will be moving some under two broody hens tonight if they stay put in their new nests.
I'm writing about it here on my blog - I really appreciate your feedback as this is all new (and rather overwhelming!) for me. So fun though!

Can I jump in? I have quite a few hatch dates going but luckily one of the dates is right on time with this thread! 11 Lemon Blue Cochins and 8 BLRW's on the 29th! Yay! So happy and excited for us all! BYC is the BEST! How cool is it to have "HATCHING BUDDIES"!

Just got a call from Paul Harter in Missouri....my chicks that I ordered are hatching and will be shipped tomorrow! I am getting 18 Delaware, 4 Partridge Rock, and 3 New Hampshire from him.

I'm in. I have 42 in the bator due on the 29th, along with 25 pullets and 30 finger lickin' eaters coming in the mail the same day. My brooder will be real chirppy for few days if all goes well.

What or which days are everyone here candling?? I have a friend doing it on day 3 so she can pencil mark the air cells on the eggs and what to see if they get larger when she candles later. I'm undecided when to candle and how often...I hear that it can reduce hatch result percentages if you candle too often. Curious as to when you are doing it?

I am in but I am due to hatch the 1st of May. This is my first time hatching so not sure how it will go, having some trouble with my bator keeping the temp steady. I think my thermostat is bad and it is brand new, or I just have to play with it some. I got from 96 to 101 and sometime higher.
