Woo hoo, I love seeing all of these little chicks and ducklings making it into the world! Congrats everyone! That's a lucky classroom. I took a video for my class!

Re: the duck feeding- I don't know about ducks, but for healthy chicks they can go for up to a few days before drinking and eating. They still have lots of energy absorbed from the yolk, and they wait with mom until the rest of the clutch is ready so that they can all go out together.

Lockdown starts in the morning for me but I have already got the humidity up since I ma going to have to open my incubator the next three days to add water and turn three eggs that I added very late. With the humidity up the temp is down and I can not get it all straight, but hey this is not rocket science right, it is chick hatching.

Congrats on the class eggs hatching!
I am so glad there are teachers like you in the world.
I am sure the children will remember this always.

I hope I didnt just mess up..... Well I am on day 19 and I started lockdown yesterday evening. No noises and no rocking or pips so I decided to take a peek. On 4 on my 6 silkie eggs I have internal pips (I can see the beak or something that wasn't there 2 days ago in the air cell).

I put them back in there right away and spritzed with a spray bottle (fine mist) real quick. They are alive in there, I can see them moving but I dont hear anything. My humidity went from 60% to 45% and then back up to 55% after the spritzing. Do you think I am okay? I sure don't want to shrink wrap them!

With my ducks I candled them numerous times while they were internally pipped. I heard it's really once they have externally pipped when you should really not open the incubator. I didn't hear mine a whole lot until they have externally pipped. Just my experience..I'm very new at this..
