Need some hatching buddies - Hatching May 24-28

So nervous. I am at work and can't look at my incubator.

I am not a very patient person so a three week wait to get to hatch day then more time for them to hatch is driving me crazy. I had to help the one that pip the small end but just enough so that it had air and would not suffocate. the other one is now starting to zip I think.

woohoo, today is day 23 and I was ready to give up.

I looked in the incubator to add water and to my surprise I have two pips. I so excited.

Sounds like you all have action going on!! It is so exciting...my husband just asked me today if I could talk about something OTHER than chicks and chickens.

We can be a little OCD on them, eh??
Hard to control!! Good luck...I'm done hatching until late next week and we can start again!!!

Well, this is day 23...I started with a total of 63 eggs, 43 made it to lockdown, and 39 hatched. I have the last one in the incubator drying out. If I figured that right my hatch rate is 91%...Wow! I think that is the best one yet. I'll have another hatch go into lockdown on May 2...I've got hatches going for the next 2wks. I hope the high humidity didn't mess the turning eggs up...we'll see

I'll try to get pics later tonight. I love all the babies! Good luck on all of your hatches.

Personally, I calculate hatch rate based on hatched/total eggs set which would be 39/63= 62%, but I think I like your math better.

I know this is a hatching thread, but I have to show all my hatching buddies what I have been up to today!
