Need Some Help

Are you suppose to keep feed out for laying hens all the time???????????

No. It is a personal choice as to what works better for your setup and time schedule. I prefer to feed my chickens enough that they clean up most of it by evening. I have no desire to attract and feed mice, rats, or any other freeloaders. I check their trough each evening when I close them up and adjust up or down.

Hi Jerryray,

I second what grayhorsewoman said about not having anything out overnight that will attract vermin or pests. I keep feeder in the run full enough for chickens to have 'free choice' and bring it in at dark because the chickens have gone into the coop.
