Welcome, Colette!

Hope you & yours got through the storm w/o any damage.

I'm a Big City transplant too.
Moved to my farmette 6 years ago from Chicago - where I lived one block from Wrigley Field.

I might not be much help identifying your chickens, but you will be sure to get an answer from someone here.
Tons of Chicken Smarts on here!

Hello again and thank you to all the replies. I was able to identify most of my girls. But now I have a major problem with them. The girls are picking on the rooster. They chase him away and peck at him if he gets too close to them. Mean girls! Rooster is very young, my guess is about a month old. He has begun to peck at the pin feathers and is exposing several colors. I don't know what he is yet and as soon as I can figure out how to get the pictures from my camera to here, then I will show all my baby pictures. My son said he'd help.

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop the girls from picking on poor little rooster? He's so sweet and loves to be held. Maybe the girls are jealous?

Oh and the terrible storm we had the other day took out a pole and transformer. My son and the neighbors said the evening sky seemed to light up an eerie blue/green hue and the explosion was incredible! A tornado touched down at the beginning of our properties, at that very pole and ripped it to bits! Then it was gone! Thank God no one was hurt and there was no more damage!

I am off today so I am going to go play with my chickens and cuddle Rooster.

Hope everyone has an awesome day!

Hugs from Florida!
