Need some opinions

Are magpies what you are going to focus on now?
I’m going to focus on Serbian highflyers, Birmingham Rollers, Fantails and Magpies. Of those I could show the Birmingham Rollers, Serbian Highflyers and Magpies. As, I have some show quality birds that I’ll just have to breed from. I have enough loft sections for all the breeds.

Does anyone know what breed of roller this hen is? I may get her just to add new blood to my bloodline. She isn’t show quality though, she looks more like a performance type.

Also, I just found this other ad for rollers to far away but it bothers me so much with how overcrowded the birds are. It’s just terrible. The loft is also very dirty.

I agree with the second pix, as overcrowding. Looks like that person is just interested in VOLUME, not quality. I would tend to pass on getting pigeons from that source. Likelihood of getting some unwanted parasites more likely than from a well maintained loft. I know how much you are concerned into making sure your birds are healthy before you sell them. And you are practically giving them away free at your prices.:frow

I’m definitely not getting birds from that person, I just saw the ad and was disgusted with how overcrowded and dirty the loft and birds were. But I may get the hen from the other person, I just hope she is a Birmingham roller.

Also, I did sell all the crossbreds. And they were in good health finally. The person who bought them has no experience with pigeons, and tried to get me to let them buy a pair of my fantails that I’ve just recently got back into breeding. I didn’t let them. Also, they were offering extremely low prices for some of my muscovies I was selling. They first left with the pigeons and then came back half an hour later to get the muscovies. Then the person wanted to get a black one that I wasn’t selling, then they wanted a female. Once again I didn’t let them. The person acted like they could get anything they wanted for a low price, and they didn’t have patience. I told them that they could have some fantails once I have some available, and they said that they want some now because they won’t come back again, they done the same thing about the muscovies. And the fact they only live half an hour away, just makes this nonsense. Well... I’m glad my dad helped me.

Also, I am probably getting six fantails and the roller hen this weekend. The person has some nice blacks and black & white fantails. They are $25 each of you get the lot so I am. All the birds are going to be quarantined in the new dog crate we got yesterday. We just have to add some small mesh to the cage so rats don’t get in and kill all the pigeons or leave them leg less.

I agree that one pic is way overcrowded and dirty. But... if they have a large outside area, the birds could just sleep in there, and maybe that’s just a pic showing all the colors and volume. I might still investigate the “rest of the story” if i were interested in any of the birds.

That's awful! Post pics of\when you get some more pigeons :) but NOT from that seller!!!

OMG!!! that is animal cruelty for sure. Look at the state of the birds too... many have damaged, filthy dirty feathers, I see a lot have missing feathers from being plucked and fighting in overcrowded conditions.

If I saw that I would be contacting the animal protection people at once and sending them that photos and the sellers details.

NO excuse for keeping pigeons like that.
