Need some opinions

This may sound like a really stupid question, but...…. can the swift pigeon breed actually fly?

Their wings look so long and floppy I can't imagine how they can have the muscles to flap them and take off!!!

If they can fly are they really good like real swifts?

Thanks..
I am not sure but theres only one way to find out!

Good thing you didnt pay $100 for a pigeon. Thats really pricy for a high flyer. Unless its been proven and has won competitions or something down that line.

As for the other birds, id say go ahead and get them. The area doesnt look too dirty and the perches look decent and not full of poop on . You can always just quarantine them and give them meds if they need some or some vitamins and probiotic and watch how they do. For $5-$10 a bird if it doesnt survive isnt as bad comparing to $80-$100 birds

So I may be getting some pigeons today, but I'm a bit worried that they may be sick especially the ones on the perch as they are very upright. I would like some opinions on what you guys think about them. Anyways here's a photo:

And the prices are $10 each for Serbian highflyers and $5 each for the Birmingham rollers.
I would get 6 of the High Flyers, 3 pairs, I assume owner would know which are male/female. I don't see these as being sick. :idunno
Priced reasonably as well. I also don't think owner is trying to dump sick pigeons on anybody.
I'm not one to like, or want Birmingham rollers, but if you like them , then get some as well.:thumbsup
My reason for not getting rollers,,,,,,, would not want them mixing with my homers.
High flyers can also mix with homers, but are easier to separate. JMO
Peeps that keep Birmingham rollers seem to focus their interest on rollers. Just my observation.

I got two pairs of highflyers and a young one and a pair of rollers. Dad said that the guy said to put two certain birds together probably for genetic reasons. Also the guy apparently used to show the rollers but hasn’t been able to for years due to the rota virus. They have Australian National Pigeon Association rings on so they are good birds. I will be only keeping them in quarantine for 1-2 weeks, then (or earlier) pair up the ones I was told to, then put them with my other highflyers.

They can! There's 2 forms though. The show form is often not capable of proper flight like most show breeds but a friend of mine breeds Swift's and flys them a few times a week! Hes got some gorgeous colors too :)

What breed are these? They look like Beauty Homers but are a bit ‘big’ to be them.

So just a few minutes ago I found this ad for 3 Magpie Pigeons. They are $60 each or $150 for them all. There are 2 males and a female. I’m thinking about getting them but I just want to ask if it’s a good price or not, as if I purchase a them all and breed them a few times I should be able to get my money back kind of.

I want to expand on my breeds and stop buying so many crossbreds, although some birds I like the colours of to much.

So what are your opinions?
