Need some opinions

I searched on line to see how they look. There are many different varieties. Some cute, and some not soo cute. It is all up to you if you like the ones in the ad. Is your loft made such as to keep separate breeds from intermingling???
$80 per bird seems on the pricey side, but I have no IDEA on the VALUE of Magpie Pigeons.:idunno
The extra male in this package may be a problem, without a mate. :idunno

My mistake it was suppose to be $60 a bird.
Another ad I saw of magpie pigeons had this female for sale for $50. I think tall birds like magpies and German Homers are quite expensive, some German Beauty’s are $100 each.

I wouldn’t be to worried about them crossbreeding, as long as they pair up. And for the extra male I may breed him with one of my many unpaired Hens (I have always had more females then males) and see what comes out.

So on Gumtree the person has put an ad up again for Magpie pigeons, this time there are 2 females and a male. They are $60 each.

I still find them weird looking. I have also had my eye on some ice pigeons from another person, and some show quality English trumpeters from another person.

Now they are $50 each. I may get them after I sort the loft out.

I put an ad up for my birds, and I am currently treating them for cocci in case they have it, as it’s been raining a lot and one of my Birmingham rollers is slightly off but she’s getting better. After that I’ll be worming them, and treating them for lice. I’m selling them for $4 each, and I’m selling 42 birds... well at least that’s how many I could count.

So I maybe selling most of the crossbred pigeons today. I’m keeping a few birds that have some issues physically. There’s this one young bird which has wry tail, when it was younger it didn’t and now it does for some reason. There’s also another bird that has wonky feet. Overcrowding has definitely caused issues. All the birds are quite healthy, and I haven’t lost any birds for quite some time. I’ve looked at there droppings and they’re fine. I just have to treat them for lice.

Also, I have been looking into getting some magpie pigeons. Since I’ve had like 4-6 months to decide, I’m thinking about getting them and possibly showing the offspring. I will need to join the ANPA and vaccinate the birds for everything. Finally the pigeon rota virus vaccine is out, but you need to be in a pigeon club to get it.

I’ll update on what’s happening.
