Need suggestions please.

Today I will be moving about 40 birds from two small coops to a massive run my husband and I have built. I’m super excited about this by the way!
My question is how in the world are we going to move them all? Hubby wants to move them by hand one at a time. Any suggestions for a more efficient way of moving them about an acre over to the new coop/ run?

I’d wait till tonight and have a chicken run party. They will be much easier to catch.

Mine will follow me anywhere if I'm dropping meal worms along the way.

Move them at night! Use a small flashlight, and pick them off their roosts, put in pet crates, and they can be crowded, and then place them on their new roosts. Use as little lighting as you can manage; head lamps are great!
It's a great time to check each bird for mite or lice, and treat each as they are moved.

Walking them over there is much less likely to work. They know where home is, and will return to their old digs. Keep them locked in the new place for a week or better, until it becomes home.
