I have a homemade incubator that is working great, except that I can't get the temp any higher than 98.4! I know I am supposed to be at 99.5 but unless I put a higher wattage bulb in there it just won't go. And higher wattages make it too hot. It's got a fan and there are no drafts in the room so I am confused. Anybody have any ideas for bringing it up one degree? Is this going to be really bad if I can't?

Have you tried covering the lid/top? Wrap it in a blanket? Add a heating pad? If you use a higher wattage bulb you can add a light dimmer to adjust temp!

    Good luck and God Bless!
