Maybe Leghorns. Any place to buy them locally? Or where to order? Something light so the kids can see when candled. They will be joining my flock of 11, along with pullets. The teacher requested the hatch at school since they will be studying lifecycle around that times. Thank you!!

If you're not worried about breed, i would be happy to donate some fertile eggs. They'll be brown or/and green. I have never had a problem candling brown eggs. They're not dark brown. They're laid by Buff Orpingtons, Easter Eggers, and other hybrids (barnyard mix). All of the hatchlings will most likely have been fertilized by an Easter Egger rooster, but that isn't 100% guaranteed. I could meet you in Conroe on Monday.
