need to fertilize and over seed

I have a small 2 acre pasture with a barn in it. How do I fertilize it without my donkey getting into it? do I wait until it's raining and spread?

Per my vet, after fertilizing a pasture needs 3 good rains before it's okay to put the livestock back on it. That's the rule of thumb that I've used since he told me this. Hope this helps.
