Need to give sick chicken olive oil - is it safe to give it to healthy chickens too?

We are pretty sure one of our hens has a crop issue. We are planning on separating her this afternoon when we get home, but I don't want to wait until then to try to help her. I was thinking of mixing some olive oil in with yogurt and taking it out to them in their coop this morning before leaving. Will olive oil hurt the chickens that are healthy? Yogurt is one way I know I can get oil into her because they are all yogurt fiends!

I dont recommend giving ALL your birds olive oil. Locate the one bird with the crop issue and give her one eyedropperful of olive oil orally. Then gently massage her neck/crop in a downward motion. She'll either pass or puke whatever is stuck in her crop, if that's what it is.

Unfortunately I saw your post after I got home this afternoon - I put yogurt in an ice cube tray and mixed a little olive oil in with it and gave it to the ladies in their coop. They seemed unharmed by it, but next time I'll use a dropper for the one. We are now pretty sure it is an ear infection. She is eating though and had a little bigger poop this afternoon than I saw yesterday, so maybe it was crop too. It's like a puzzle!
