I notice today that one of my Buff Orpingtons has a larger comb and has a short tail on the back that is starting to curl down. Does this mean he is a Rooster. He is about 8 to 9 weeks old. Could anyone tell me what they think. I will try to get a picture up later. Thanks Tina

It's really hard to know without seeing a picture. Feathering is helpful to see in determining the gender as well.

Are you really sure.. I am very excited if it is.. They are hard to come by when buying from a store. Breeders do not send Roosters in the Buffs only pullets. I have 30 female orpings that need to breed

my buf orp is about the same age and her comb is yellow, with no wattles at all, they make a really nice rooster

My hens all have not had such a red comb either at this age and have had a full rump of strait fethers not curly. I am going to hope it is. Would love to have some chicks.. Thanks
