Ok. We had some awesome neighbors about a mile down the road, but the husband has severe health problems, so they had to move to town. So some other people moved there late last summer. They were very quite and never said hi to us, they just called us once because some dogs were on their property[weren't ours]. So about 2 months ago we stopped in and met the wife, she was nice. So, this place is like my future dream home, a gorgeous large house, a barn to die for, 2 HUGE workshops type thingies, a lovely chicken coop[that I want], and 103 acres. The land is mostly wooded but has two hayfields. One is about 30 acres and one maybe 10 or 15. These are probably the nicest hayfields around. No weeds, alfalfa, and grass mixed. It made some real nice hay last year. Ok. Hay has been VERY short around here, horses are going for $10 at the sale barn and such. It is almost time to cut. They said they were not going to have any livestock. Which that made me about cry because our animals don't have the best of shelters, and these people have quite new pole barn with a large hay loft, 2 horse stalls with runs, and feedlot type area big enough for 10-20 cattle and lots of storage. The barn is a dream. Anyway, we got on our horses and decided to ride down there and ask if we could buy the hay from them when they cut because they have no animals, this was about 4 days ago. We then see 4 silly looking boer whatever goats in the stall and run[nothing like my alpines
]. So my mom says lets go back, they have animals now and will need the hay. I say it is only 4 goats, they won't need all that hay. Well mom always wins and we go back. Well our neighbor friend who is as farmer as it gets and can tell you anything about cattle, hay, or corn said something that made me about pass out yesterday. He said that those people just BRUSHHOGGED the hay fields!!!!!!!!!! BRUSHHOGGED!!!!!!!!!! So now all that hay is wasted. That could have been our hay!! We are barely getting by on 2 bales of $165 weedy, moldy crap, and they are brushhogging 45 acres of GOLD!!!!!!!!!! He asked the owner about it, and she said, ''That would make hay?''. Just had to rant.
