Hope everyone is have a great late summer like we are in W-NW GA.

I need to rehome 12 pullets and 2 cockerels. Here is what I have and their ages:
4 x Bielefelders (18 weeks old)
4 x Buff Orpingtons (10 weeks old)
4 x Black Australorp pullets (8 weeks old)
2 x Black Australorp cockerels (8 weeks old)

Also, if you live in this area ... do you know of any farms that might take them? Looking for options if anyone might have a suggestion.

Thanks!

Visit your local Tractor supply or rural king. Most of them know people who are wanting chickens

Thank you. I tried TSC. Staff didn't know anyone and only suggested I "post it on bulletin board". Went looking for the bulleting board ... its tucked way in the back of the store, on wall down a hallway leading to the bathrooms. Not a high profile spot and won't be noticed unless folks accidently see it on their way to the facilities.

Also posted on Craigs List ... tried FB, but they said I couldn't post animals on their market place. I'm now calling local farmers who all seem to have enough chickens already (not to mention they probably don't want to introduce new ones into their existing flock).

Thanks again for your thoughts. Let me know if anything else pops into your mind. :frow

Thanks for asking. I'm about 90 minutes away, but willing to travel.

As for reason for rehoming, I purchased too many chicks. I have 12 older girls and thought I needed to start replenishing ... though the older ones are only giving me an egg a day (total, not each) they're healthy. I'm now faced with combining the 12 older with the 12 younger pullets ... and my hen house isn't big enough for them all. Cruel realization. It would take me too long to build out a whole new hen house and yard for them.

As for the 2 cockerels (8 weeks old), they were supposed to be pullets. I don't have the space to set up separate pens for them to "grow out" and wouldn't have the heart to butcher them anyway.

Hope that all makes sense.
