Anyone with pics showing small dog-house or igloo tractors that are easy to pick up? 25 pounds is my limit.

thanks much!

Mine's more then 25 pounds, but the run removes from the dog house so I can move them separately. I can also remove the roof of the dog house for easy cleaning, and to remove a bit more weight. I'm easily able to do it by myself...Here's a pic.

Here is a picture of my dog house converted into a coop. It too is heavier than 25 lbs....probably more like 100...but it is SOLID. It was left on the property when we bought it....been sitting in the same place for 4 years...til we decided to raise chickens earlier this spring.
I would like to put a nest box on the side too...but for now, I built an unattached nesting box.

Mother Earth News had a great "how-to" article on making a chicken tractor with a dog house. I will see if I can locate that info for ya...It was very light and sounds like what you are talking about.

That's great!!!! I think it's kind of what I'm looking for to make a rooster bachelar pad. What size is it?

I believe it's something like 6' x 4' . It was here when we moved....and boy, was it heavy to move! We had to ask Dave and Trish, our friends that live down the road, to come help move it with Dave's Pickup....and it was still a challenge!
I just wish I knew a way to make it top accessable....would love to be able to lift up one side of the roof.....but that would require skills that I don't possess....at least I don't think I do...LOL!!

CoffeeLady,
I've seen houses like yours on ebay and considered buying one. But I just think I'll make one now to keep costs down.
But how many chickens can you keep in yours, and do you let yours out of the run during the day? or can they stay inside there all the time?

I'm just tyring to get an idea of size required.
