Aloha I currently am in the process of moving my flock from Big Island to Texas. I have 1 Rooster/2Hens/and a cockerel all being shipped. What would ya'll recommend vaccinating them for prior to shipping them? As of now they aren't vaccinated for anything, however I do use a multivitamins/mineral/electro powder and Kickin Chicken for oils. So far I haven't had to deal with anything major as I live back in the jungle, but it'd be horrible if anything happened to my flock.

Best guess is ask your local vet.

Hawaii is super strict as to animals, but Texas is not.

So...going from Hawaii to Texas you probably just need a paper from your vet saying that he looked them over.

I don't actually know of any vaccines for adult chickens. ....but then I am a "livestock" kind of chicken owner verses a "pet" type...so might just be totally ignorant in regards to vaccines.

Your airline may have advice, and contact the Texas Ag. Dept. Your veterinarian, and/ or your state veterinary office, should have that information. I doubt there's vaccine required, but there certainly may be testing for ??? diseases. Don't get caught at the airport without the right paperwork! Mary
