need tractor ideas

I redid a silkie hutch I had and made it two level for my quail. I have it shorten to 4' since I wasn't going to keep chickens in it anymore. I made a ramp that draws up so I can move it. I just need to make handles for the one side and buy a set of wheels to go on it. It's been raining so bad I haven't been able to finish it. I used only 2 2x4's for the end legs and the rest is made of 2x2's so it's not heavy at all.

I'm building a chicken tractor this weekend. I'm going to put my turkens in there. Then I can free up the turken pen for my meat chickens who STINK in their brooders right now.

I love the City Chicken tractor page! AWESOME!

Edited to add: Elderoo, that is BY FAR my favorite chicken tractor, too. I love how it looks like a covered wagon (we live right off the Oregon Trail). Prairie Schooners for chooks!

I'm going to make a double this time.I just thought of it.Just about like the other but one on added on to it.I have only one set of wheels.I can't wait for my freinds to come back from vacation lol.

I just realized i have two sets of training wheels hanging up in my garage -duh! i was going to make a permanant coop and still might but I also like the chicken tractors as I do live in the city but have been reading a lot about raising "backyard" poultry and such and really like the "tractor" concept. Right now my two birds I have free range all day but I am home to watch them. When school starts back up in the fall that won't be the case. They actually think that my garden shed is their coop right now. I put them in an old rabbit cage we had an lock them in there at night. Thats where I find them during midday when it heats up - hanging out on the back of my riding mower. Now if I could only teach them to mow...

See the problem with chicken tractors is that they are limited once you get them built. You start off building the perfect little chicken tractor for a few hens. Then soon, you are wanting to hatch out eggs. So you put a few in the incubator, and soon you've got a couple of chicks. They grow, and soon join the few hens in the tractor. A little time goes by and you realize how fun it was raising the babies, so you decide to put a few more eggs in the incubator, and soon you have a few more babies. Those go into the brooder, and then you suddenly you realize that the original tractor isn't large enough to include the new babies. So you back to building another chicken tractor. And then....
