Need transport help for a rescue dog

Is anyone traveling from the Columbus Ohio area south, towards South Carolina any time in the next month or so? A friend of mine runs a grooming shop in Ohio and takes in rescue dogs from time to time. She does not run a formal rescue so she has no transport connections. She took in an adorable young chihuahua last week and my daughter (here in SC) is prepared to offer the dog a forever home. My daughter has the perfect home for this dog but can't afford the cost of a flight to ship her. She can drive part way if necessary to meet someone who's traveling this direction. The little dog is only 3 pounds so she'd ride in the smallest crate. She is a good traveler too. If you are within an hour or so of Columbus we can probably arrange for my friend to bring the dog to you. Can you help? Thanks!

How soon does this need to happen. I live an hour or so from Cincinnati. Next Sunday would be the only day I have open. could meet somewhere in between.

The dog is ready to travel now....next sunday would work assuming Tiffany (the rescuer) can get her to you then. Where are you headed?

Most any Sunday would work with enough notice. i do a bit of transporting just to help the dogs.

Need more specifics. An hour which direction? I am 3 hrs north of Cinci. I cant really go that far. I've driven to WY and back, NY and back and will be heading back out to WY very shortly.

I live in Indiana an hour east of the Ohio line.I am about 20 minutes from 74 at the Greensburg exit not sure what # that is.Also not to far from 65 if that is closer for you.I am in Hope In.

If we can or need to get a chain going I can meet someone in Cincinnati and transport a bit farther into Kentucky (In an hour south east of Cincinnati, but work up there). I can't go far, but help is help.

This could work! Looking at mapquest, the shortest and most direct route from her location to mine is right down Interstate 77 which will go through ohio, into West Virginina and virginia, then North Carolina and finally home into South Carolina. I wonder if a chihuahua rescue might have transport contacts that would be willing to help. My daughter is making a bunch of phone calls to see if she can work this out. She just fell in love with the little dog's picture and feels this already her pup.....just has to bring her home. Thanks for all those willing to make this work. I have never organized a rescue transport train before but I know it is done all the time. Hmmm....I wonder if there might be a facebook page for that?

I won't be of help to OP, but maybe this can help to some other people
who are in need of animal transport.

Seems like transportation is a big issue when it comes to acquiring an animal.
For example, You can find perfect animal, but the distance is 1000 miles away...
Traveling by car is too costly, flying is too costly...

I was in such situation my self; there were no dogs (the kind I wanted) in my State.
I found one several States away and I was facing the "transportation issue"
After long research and numerous emails, I found one suitable (for my needs) Transporter.
They were not expensive at all and did a great job! Dog delivered overnight!

I know they have only certain traveling line, but at least you get an idea what to look for,
what to "google" when you'll be in need of animal transportation.
