Look at the labels for disinfectants such as VirkonS, OxineAH and novalsan. Find one that is effective against Haemophilus paragallinarum (gallinarum) bacteria. Replace all bedding and thoroughly disinfect per label instructions of the selected disinfectant. The first link does not list a waiting time, but mentions survival of the bacteria for a few days in cooler temperatures. The Merck Vet manual doesn't discuss it at all. The Chicken Health Handbook says to let the coop lie empty for 3 weeks.
