H! everyone!!

I have been learning some great things about chickens, farming, etc. The problem is I can never find the resources to do what I want to do no matter which way I search the internet.

I live near Hudson, WI, St. Croix County (western WI by the MN/WI border)

Does anyone know of a feed mill near me where we can get feed in bulk, possibly delivered?

I also need a dump truck full of wood chips. I called St. Croix Tree Service (St. Croix County) and they "recycle" their chips but wouldn't tell me what they do. They no longer provide chips to the public.

Any ideas where I can get chemical-free, dye-free, natural chips for mulch for my expansive garden?

I even asked the professional landscaper by my house and even he couldn't tell me where I could get wood chips.

Thank you for any help you can provide!!!!

On the feed mill, call your county extension agent, in the phone book probably under county government.

You can also ask about the wood chips, but that’s less likely the agent will have an answer. But what does it cost to ask?

Another possible source for wood chips is to talk to your local utility company. They are probably grinding up tree limbs all the time and might appreciate a place to dump a load close to where they are working. Save them some travel time and expense. The problem with them is that they are not going to be able to guarantee they are organic. They just trim the trees threatening their lines and don’t concern themselves with what might have been sprayed on them.
