needing help on where to purchase a chicken door

I and several others on BYC have the automatic door from Foy's, which DOES use the "guillotine" type door. The light sensing unit is PERFECT, and it can be adjusted for sensitivity. You can also buy a timer for it, and not use the light sensor, but I didn't want to have to keep changing the time on the time as the days got longer or shorter. Or that Daylight Savings Time thing happened.

And the unit uses batteries, so you don't need to run power to your coop. I absolutely love mine!!!!!!!!!

Thanks that was actually a site I have not been to. I would need to get the timer too. I know the habits of the chickens I have now but do not know what the habits will be of my 2- 3 week old chicks. They might like to linger after dark. I like the idea of being able to set it to close about 30-45 minutes after the time they go in to roost.

can't you just hire a neighbor to come over twice a day? what happen to friendly neighbors? OR a young kid that you trust to watchover your chickens?

I wish I had a neighbor or friend that would come over and let my chickens out at 6:30 a.m and put them up at 7:30 p.m every day!! Last year I made my brother come live at my house for 10 days when we went to London. I was not missing that trip!! At that time I only had 6 chickens and it was not that hard. He didn't mind it, he just doesn't live in Arkansas anymore. Going to check out buildeasy.com but it looks like I am going to go with the one at on chickendoors.com
