I love how it comes apart for easy cleaning. Where did you find the, what I'd call liter pan thing that you have under the roost?

Here are my roosts. I haven't had a problem with anything since using them.

here is a pic of one of my roosts. The two vertical supports are about 3 meters long, and the horizontal 2x2 are about a meter long. They're rounded off on the corners and held in place with a screw in each side.
They're hinged, so I can lift them up to make cleaning easier.

The shed where my chickens are in is about 540 square feet, and really high. Sometimes my Altsteirer hens roost in the rafters which are about 5 meters high or 16 feet

Are they closer to 2 x 2s? We're building our coop and this is close to what we were thinking. Thanks!

The first one is in the main coop addition. The top rungs are from a heavy duty pallet--they are nicely rounded 2x4's and just needed sanding and nails removed. The bottom ones are 2x4s.

These are in the original side of the main coop:

This is the roost shelf in the BBS Orpington coop. Suede's feet are 5" from back to front so he had to have a large, low roost area.

This is the Old Ladies' Coop. See the single 2x2 roost on the shelf bracket? That belongs to my banty Cochin, Shadow. We call it her "Princess Roost", LOL.
