needing some guidance to changing chicken laws in my town...

So i live in mattoon il and though the local shops sell chicks its against town oridances(sp) to keep them... I am hoping someone here can offer some help as to go about changing this law... I'd really only like 6 laying hens so, though they make noise, its not as loud as a rooster so I'd think that would be a plus at least... I had to send my silkie to my aunts farm due to this and I'd love to be able to get them back... so yeah... help, if any, would be epic!

Get a petition going around and have a lot of people sign it!
