I would agree with you about the C. Pepper if a person were to keep pushing a dog's nose into the pepper. However, this deterrent is something that is established once and is self-regulated by the dog itself and not abusive unless someone chooses repeatedly to physically push the dog’s nose into it.

Are you trolling?

SERIOUSLY? HAVE YOU FALLEN AND BUMPED YOUR HEAD! YOU DO REALIZE THAT YOU JUST POSTED THAT ON A BIRD FANCIER SITE RIGHT?

LETS BREAK THIS DOWN--- HOMEOWNER 1 HAS A DOG AND IS LEGALLY ALLOWED TO POSESS IT--- OK SO FAR....
HOMEOWNER 2 HAS CHICKENS AND IS LEGALLY ALLOWED TO POSESS THEM--- EVEN PLAYING FIELD
PROBLEM--- DOG BARKS AT CHICKENS=== OK WE'VE IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM... AND THE PROBLEM BELONGS TO WHO??? OH THATS RIGHT! HOMEOWNER 1, WHO OWNS AND POSESSES THE PROBLEM BARKING DOG.... NOW, WE SEE THE TOTAL EQUATION, AND THE PROBLEM.... TIMES THAT BY THE FACT THAT HOMEOWNER 1--- WHO OWNS AND POSESSES THE PROBLEM, IS THE HOMEOWNER WHO IS COMPLAINING=== THE END RESULT IS HOMEOWNER 1 IS COMPLAINING ABOUT HER OWN PROBLEM. NOW WE DIVIVDE THIS BY THE FOLLOWING--- HOMEOWNER 2 HAS NO PROBLEM, BUT IF SHE CHOOSES TO DO SO SHE CAN BY ALL MEANS COMPLAIN ABOUT THE NOISE PROBLEM AND FURTHER COMPLICATE HOMEOWNER 1'S PREDICAMENT. AND THAT Y'ALL IS LEGAL ALGEBRA! GOD ITS A WONDER WE ARENT SPEAKING JAPANESE OR GERMAN IN THIS COUNTRY.

lol chill out dude.I want to know who had what animals first. If the woman who owns the dog had it before the woman with the chickens then its kinda the woman who owns the chickens fault becouse she didnt relize that a dog would be barking at the chickens,if its the other way around im totally wiht you on this.

And im sorry if I avrigated anyone but its my opinion you dont all have to get so worked up on some post.I have the right to post my opinion dont I?

Of course you do. I think that others are just saying that one person having a poorly trained dog shouldn't preclude the rest of the neighborhood from pets just because it will upset a barker.

^^^ See how this looks if you put in "children" instead of chickens? If it were children, should they be kept indoors, lest the ill-behaved dog bark, simply because it was there first? The barking is the dog-owner's issue.

Yes you do absolutely have a right to your opinion! I quoted you earlier and disagreed with you and if I came off too intolerant, I sincerely apologize. I meant it as simple disagreement, not a personal attack and I hope it didn’t feel that way. The OP has long since worked out at least a partial agreement with her neighbor, as well as having taken some steps to keep her hens from getting too close to the fence which should help the dog deal with them better. This means that most of our feather ruffling is a moot point anyway!
