Neighbor gave me chickens and they keep running away

I kept my new chickens in their coop for 2 weeks and then let then free range about an hour before dark. Try 2 weeks and if you feel they will still try to go back, keep them in for one more and by then they should know your coop is their home.

It's a lot harder when you live so close to their old home. Just keep working at it. Eventually you should make some progress.
