Agreed!I am happy for you and your new goats! The fence looks like it is doing the job. Your little farm is so cute, and your animals are all so sweet, I am glad it's going well.

I believe they took our old rooster, but if they take this one I will get even more mad because this is a prime example of a good rooster.
exactly what i was thinking! and set up a trail cam too.... or atleast 2 security cameras! i allways get the feeling my animals are being stalked to the point i almost put an alarm on the rabbit hutches!Perhaps locks on the coop and run are a good idea?

Yes, after this incident we went out and bought locks. We just thought we would only have to worry about predators hurting our chickens but sadly we have to worry about our neighbors too, so we locked the coop. We might set up cameras, but those are obviously more expensive than locks. Thanks for the ideasPerhaps locks on the coop and run are a good idea?
Glock? Heck, just an el cheapo .22 would do the trick. A larger (louder) lead spitter if you need to be heard above the disco next door.
LIKE the nail idea. Depending on the situation I'd hang large fishing treble hooks (dozens and dozens) in the trees & bushes at about chest level (yes, I'm evil), but one should best be well posted before you go to those extremes.
Of course the more sane among us would still advocate, and correctly so, seeking legal representation and fight this war in the courts. Loser pays the damages AND court fees, so make it too expensive for the nut job to continue the fight.
I would call the police. That rooster is your property (along with being a pet). Also, they do sound like super crazy neighbours. I would document any & all interactions with them. Even write down the rumors (but add it as such & who said it) so in case this turns into a legal battle you have all the info ready.I have a similar story. We have a rooster and he crows in the morning around 7:30 (not even at dawn!). Then he crows later until he is let out of the coop. Our neighbors complained a lot and had an animal control officer come to our house (we learned later they were friends with the control officer). Anyone who raises their chickens from chicks grow a bond with them. We woke up one morning and our rooster was not there anymore. All of the hens were there and there was no sign of him being killed (feathers, blood, etc.). We can't confirm this, but I have a feeling our neighbors took him. These are the type of people that get ****** if ANYTHING in their perfect life gets disturbed. To paint a picture of how crazy these people are a couple years ago some people were getting improvements to their house, the mean neighbors complained it disturbed their view. The other neighbors had to paint the construction vehicles camouflage. We hatched another rooster, and he is one of the nicer roosters (he is the one we have now). He falls asleep in your lap and doesn't mind being held. We learned which neighbors had complained, and they don't even live that close to us. We set up soundproofing in the coop so he is barely heard from the coop. These neighbors are on the other side of the street and a walk up the street by about a minute. Our coop is in the back and they are on the other side of our house too on the corner of the street on a small hill. We barely hear him in the morning due to the soundproofing, yet the still claim they do which is BS. I believe they took our old rooster, but if they take this one I will get even more mad because this is a prime example of a good rooster. He barely crows and crows later in the morning compared to dawn. He also doesn't crow as loud as our old rooster. I hate neighbors like them and the one in the original post also seems like a real nice person.
