Neighbor is BIG TIME feeding the raccoons.

Please give me the link to that Federal Law. I need to educate myself. Also. .....THEN JUST PUT A BULLET IN ITS HEAD OR HIT IT WITH A HAMMER, doesn't really matter to me. I was just trying to be sensitive to the tree highers and not suggest killing the creature at first.
APIS, a wing of the USDA is attempting to wipe out Rabies in the wild coon population by air dropping oral rabies vaccine in bands running North & South.

The problem is that as soon as one piece of the country is declared rabies free, some pain in the butt Tree Huggers trucks in a previously exposed coon in the trunk of his or her BMW and the whole thing is then for naught.

If there was a just God the Tree Hugers own children would be the first infected. Sorry, but the truth hurts.

I have never seen a human with Hydrophobia but it must be an awful sight. As a small child an elderly relative of mine (Uncle Tom) told me that there was only two things in this life that he would always remember.

One was watching 3 men lynched at one time and the other was watching his baby sister die from rabies.

This Tree Hugger has a problem with all the dissing of environmentalists going on around here.

I also had a neighbor who fed raccoons. I did battle with the raccoons trying to break into my chicken coop every night using a baseball bat. One by one, though, the coons fell into another neighbor's pool and drowned. Who knew coons couldn't swim? These couldn't, anyway. Then the coon loving neighbor got evicted and took the survivors with her to her new home.

In any case, we are now coon free and this treehugger couldn't be happier. I still keep my coop predator proof, though. Take out one band of coons, there will be more to fill the vacuum. And don't let's talk about coyotes.

To the lady who feeds raccoons cat food - you aren't doing the coons any favors. It gives them gout.

So, if you want to torture coons, put out cat food and let gout take its course.

If this is true I might set out barrels of cat food for the little buggars!

SO why did you say it was against federal law. That is not an accurate statement. Why did you say that? And there's something wrong with you if your wishing Rabies on ANYBODY's kids. You need help.

Don't make a statement of you can't back it up with facts.

***? It is not legal to "relocate" wildlife in America. You have google. DO you need me to use it for you so that you can have facts? Fine. Done. Took all of 15 seconds.

I went ahead and put the relevant part in this post so you don't have to strain yourself with extra reading.

Finally, for the protection of wildlife and people, Massachusetts law prohibits the capture and re-location of wildlife.
Often people want to catch a problem animal and release it elsewhere. It is illegal to move any live wild animal from one area to another. This law has been in effect for many years, protecting both people and wildlife.

These kinds of laws are on the books all over the country.

Well, being as raccoons are one of the biggest harbringers of rabies, I think a call to your state wildlife agency is in order... That, and just maybe a welfare check on her. She might be hoarding, or some other unhealthy behavior and the coons are just a symptom of it.

And... Hot fence AND traps. Shooting them is your choice. It's what I'd do, but the choice is entirely yours.

Gosh I'm glad I'm not your neighbor!

I'd kind of like to be Shortgrass's neighbor. It would save me the trouble of shooting the coons myself!
