Neighbor issue *Update! He let them out! post 19*

I do think I will be padlocking the run anytime we go away from now on. I don't think he'd do it when we are in town. We do have dogs, but we often either take them with us on trips or leave them with a friend. Locking the gate won't help since he has been jumping the fence, but hopefully we can get a privacy screen of vines up fairly quickly to take care of that problem.

Plant some stinging nettle in 5 gallon pots and place where needed to deter jumping over the fence.I planted some along the fence line and will just let it spread.

I would also be furious. Obviously this guy is completely lost in social interaction, so I don't think that ignoring will even register with him. I would certainly call the police and just tell them everything that is going on. You can make it clear that you don't want to hurt your neighborhood relations (and you still are going to have to live next to this guy), but the police need to be aware of what is going on and have a complaint on file in case he does something serious. I am not trying to be dramatic or scary, but I wonder what is stopping him from walking in the front door when you don't answer right away. I would think that the police can have a rational conversation with him about property rights and trespassing that shouldn't harm your relations too much. After all, the guy is clueless and may not even take offense.

SSS, that's what it does.

What does that do?

Oleander is highly poisionous - gorgeous, but deadly. I was kidding, but maybe planting some oleander along the fence would encourage him to stay away. My friend had to do that with her neighbor that was constantly peeking over the wall into their house.
